Bringing $60,000 to six local organizations that make our communities stronger every day through a partnership with FHLB Des Moines.
Good communities are built by people who show up, lend a hand and do ordinary things well every day.
Across the communities we serve, local organizations are helping teachers equip their classrooms, making sure families have food, supporting students, caring for parents and babies, improving shared spaces and creating opportunities for young people.
Progressive Ozark Bank is proud to partner with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines through the Member Impact Fund to help six of those organizations continue their important work.
Together, this partnership is bringing $60,000 in grant funding to six organizations across south-central Missouri.
The Member Impact Fund helps FHLB Des Moines member institutions expand their support for nonprofit and government organizations working to strengthen local communities. In public announcements, participating institutions are asked to recognize FHLB Des Moines’ contribution to the funded projects.
Supporting Teachers and Students in Salem
The Salem Public Schools Foundation will use its funding to support Teacher’s Closet, which provides classroom supplies and resources for local educators.
Teachers invest in students every day. By helping place needed materials in their classrooms, Teacher’s Closet allows educators to focus more of their time and resources on creating positive learning experiences for Salem students.
Helping Feed Families in Texas County
The Texas County Food Pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families throughout the area.
Its grant will help the pantry continue meeting an essential need for neighbors experiencing food insecurity through needed repairs to food storage coolers. The Pantry's non-perishable food inventory will also receive a boost, allowing the organization to ensure local families have food on the table throughout the year.
Removing Barriers for Houston Students
Bright Futures Houston meets needs for students through connections with businesses, churches, organizations, and community volunteers to help meet students’ needs.
The grant will support efforts to provide health & hygiene items, coats, shoes, and other resources so students can better focus on learning. Sometimes a relatively small need can make it difficult for a student to participate fully at school. Bright Futures helps bring the right people together to find a solution.
Providing Practical Support for Mountain Grove Families
The Pregnancy Resource Center will use its funding to purchase essential items such as baby formula, bottles, diapers, diaper bags, and testing instruments.
Access to these resources can make a meaningful difference for parents, babies, and families facing hardship or an unexpected challenge.
Improving a Community Gathering Place in Mansfield
The Mansfield Community Betterment Organization will use its grant to make repairs and improvements to the Mansfield Community Center, including restroom renovations.
Funding will also help provide healthy snacks for after-school programs. These investments will support a gathering place used by children, families, and other community members throughout the year.
Building New Memories at Davis Field
The Hartville-Grovespring Community Center will use its funding to continue the rehabilitation and renovation of Davis Field.
Planned improvements include excavation work, bases, lighting, fencing, a scoreboard and field-maintenance equipment. The organization also plans to purchase bats, helmets, balls, tees and other supplies for local teams.
The project will help provide a better place for young athletes to learn, compete and create the kinds of community memories that can last a lifetime.

Each of these organizations serves a different need, but they share something important: people who care deeply about their neighbors and are willing to put that care into action.
That is what community banking should be about.
