Local Student Partners with Progressive Ozark Bank
At Progressive Ozark Bank, we believe great ideas can come from anywhere — and sometimes, they come straight from the classroom.
Amaya King, a senior at Licking High School, recently turned a class assignment into something much bigger. As part of her Applied Math class, students were challenged to apply linear equations to real-world situations. Amaya chose to focus on interest rates and the way savings can grow over time — then brought the concept to life through an original advertisement for our Kids Grow Savings account.
Her concept centered on a simple but powerful message of how parents guide children in learning the concept of how things grow over time. She intentionally designed the ad to appeal to both kids and parents, using bright visuals to capture attention while building an emotional connection rooted in trust.
Before finalizing her project, Amaya researched Progressive Ozark Bank to better understand how math applies in everyday banking and to gain insight into our role in the community. She thoughtfully considered our brand, our focus on families, and the importance of trust when working with children’s savings.
We were especially impressed by her research, insight, and attention to detail. Banking advertising includes important regulatory considerations, and Amaya demonstrated a strong understanding of the responsibility that comes with financial messaging. She captured not just the creative side of marketing, but the compliance and brand alignment that are critical in our industry.
Because of the strength of her work, Progressive Ozark Bank is now building a broader campaign around her original concept to promote our Kids Grow Savings account. We’re also excited to continue collaborating with her on an upcoming campaign for our Student Debit Card.
For Amaya, seeing her classroom project evolve into a real campaign has been both exciting and affirming. She shared with us that it helped reinforce her interest in marketing and made a career in advertising feel within reach.
